Decoding MC68HC912D60/A/C/P SHADOW WORD/BYTE codes

Postby TS33DDI » 13 Jun 2012 14:16

Hi,

I'm currently working on a MC68HC912D60 chip and am struggling to understand how you would decipher/decode the SHADOW WORD code of addresses 0FC0h & 0FC1h. I've try reading the datasheet over and over again but still don't understand any of it. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

And a few more questions whether they're related or related in this subject. When trying to erase both EEPROM and FLASH, the software verifies that both have been erased but when performed a read, I notice that there are still data in the FLASH. Does the SHADOW words/bytes have anything to do with the data proctection in this particular case? And in case of a BDM lockout, how do you unlock it?

Hello TS33DDI,

I am afraid that Dataman will not provide information about circumventing the security features implemented by the chip manufacturers.

If you have any other questions I will try to help.

Best regards,
