PIC12C671 Oscillator calibration

Postby dirk2013 » 09 Oct 2013 15:52

Hi,

We are getting an error when we program a PIC12C671 when the Oscillator calibration value programming option is ticked (ADR=03FFh DO=3FFFh DI=34ACh ST=0000). Is this option for overwriting the factory configured value?

Hello Derek,

Which programmer are you using? Generally if you select to program the osc. cal. value then yes, this will overwrite the factory programmed data in this area. Usually the erase option has a "preserver factory programmed calibration value".

If you have any questions, please contact me.

Hi Neil,

We are using the 448 Pro2 programmer.
The device is OTP, so does not have an erase option.
We have no reason to overwrite the factory calib value, so will keep this option un-ticked.
I am still curious as to why the programmer gave an error when we did try to overwrite the value. Could it be the value it was attempting to write (3FFFh) i.e. blank?

Hello Derek,

Can I ask you to recreate the error and use the "Help | Create problem report" feature and email it to [email protected] for analysis. Hopefully this will allow us to locate the cause of the error and we can offer a solution.

If you have any questions, please contact me.

Best regards
