help needed by newbie 24c16 smd chip

Postby Guest » 10 Nov 2011 11:21

Hi ppl !

I,m trying to read a dump file out of a 8 legged 24c16 smd chip out of a car radio so that i can decode it with my dataman s4 can anybody tell me what i will need etc to do the job ?

I already have the S4 SRLEE ADAPTER and the PIC 16 SERIES 3 WAY ADAPTER and also the PIC 17 SERIES ADAPTER but the chip is tiny in comparison to any of these adapters or is there another one that i need to buy to program these smaller chips ?

thanks for any help in advance :)

moj !

Hi Moj !

In order to program this device on your S4 you will need the S4 Serial lib. V3.21 and the S4 Serial Module.

This will allow you to program all serial devices in the DIL package. If you have a different package for example the surface mount 8pin SOIC then you will need a SOIC to DIL 300mil adaptor.

Hope this helps.
