I have successfully copied contents of a AT28C64 into an AT28C64B. It verifies correctly in my S4 and I did change the configuration between the read and write.
The original works fine in its parent machine but the copy is not recognised.
Why might this be?
I used the B version as the vanilla device is not easy to find now.

Re: Eeprom AT28C64(B)
Hello PaulT,
I would have thought that this is down to the differences between the AT28C64 and AT28C64B devices themselves.
If you are able to COMPare the contents of both devices and get SAME then they contain the same data. If the B device does not work in your application then it must be down to differences between the devices.
Best regards,
