S4 with SST 49LF002A

Postby Guest » 14 Nov 2011 16:12

Hi
i have a faulty SST 49LF002A and of couse the S4 says No signature found... (yes i have the adaptor)

my question is if i obtain a new SST 49LF002A will the S4 be able to program it ?
i belived this device to be 3.3volts where others like atmel and winbond are 5volt devices

the spec on the device is listed here
http://pdf1.alldatasheet.co.kr/datashee ... LF002.html

I cannot see it listed in the devices of the current lib of flash eeprom nvram V1.14 but it DOES list the winbond and Atmel 49f series which i think are newer chips, is it the case that the s4 is no longer going to be updated with new libs?

many thanks
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

The 49LF002A is a low voltage 3.3v device whereas the S4 is strictly a 5v and above programmer. Performing an Auto ID on this device with the S4 is likely to damage it.

I would advise you to look at the Dataman 40Pro on our website as this supports this chip and pretty much all the devices the S4 did and more.

Regards,

Neil
