Win XP - Com Port

I have a couple of S4s that I havent used for about 18 month, but now need to use!!

The device powers up , but I am struggling to connect.

I have tried various ports and baud rates, but every time I try and send a file to the device its says
"S4 is not connected......."

Oddly when I change the Comm port the device is sending a command back. (see attached image)

Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong.

Thanks in advance.

Hello geordierussell,

Thank you for posting on our users forum. There is an application note on sending a library to the S4 over the serial port which covers setting up the port and baud rate for the S4 driver software, please have a look at this and let me know if you encounter any further problems:

Thanks for the info.

I have tried that and the devices appears to be connecting (1st image)

However the 2nd image shows the error when sending the file (Transfer/Download (PC > S4)

I have done this about 50 times over the last 10 years and never had a problem! Am I going mad?

Hello geordierussell,

The S4 driver software version you are using looks quite old, can you download v2.17 from our website here and try that: https://www.dataman.com/dataman-s4-resources

Please let me know how you get on.
