If the MPASM source file contains the directive:

__config _EC_OSC & _WDT_OFF & _MC_MODE

this creates an Intel Hex file that contains the configuration settings:

:020000040001F9
:02FC0000E3FF20
will that override the Device/Configuration settings in the Dataman 48XP application? If not is ...

To answer my own question/problem I had selected PIC17C44, not PIC17C44 *44

When I selected the correct device it worked

Trying to program a PIC17C44 with my Dataman 48XP

Using a 44pin DIP to PLCC adapter wired 1:1

Get an Unrecognised Device message and OverCurrent message.

What is wrong please? Is this a faulty IC, or ????

Similarly when I try to verify I get a Device Unmatched message ...

I tried to use AutoID on a TMS2764 (yes I know - old stuff).

I get a message saying:

"Searching for 28 pin device (man=35h, dev=90h)..."

And them get a popup with the title "AutoSelect EPROM" with both the Vendor and Device list boxes unpopulated!

The Help on the dialog does nothing :(
