Problem programming Intel's E28F320J3A on Dataman 48

Postby Guest » 10 Nov 2011 17:08

Hi,

I have successfully programmed the 56 pin TSOP package - E28F320J3A on the Dataman 48 programmer running using version 4.30 software under windows 95. Programmed and verified multiple times. But then ...

the next time I went to program a device an extra 0 byte was inserted at a constant address. Every time. Couldn't verify from then on. Moved to a different windows machine (windows 98 this time) and it worked again! For 1 day. The next day a 0 byte was inserted at a constant (but different) offset.

Has anyone else seen this behaviour? It is driving me insane. I have reinstalled the programmer software and it doesn't help.

Thanks,

Brian Danilko

Hello Brian,

This sounds like an intermittent problem. I would suspect the parallel port settings on your PC.

We recommend that the parallel port is set to either ECP or EPP mode in the PC's BIOS. Please check this.

You can enter the BIOS on rebooting the PC and then pressing the Del key or some machines require F1 or F2 or in some cases, other key combinations are reqired.

Best regards,
