Xicor chip compatibility

Postby stumd » 30 May 2017 15:24

I am likely to need to work on various EOL chips in the not too distant future and will need a new programmer - long story. Could I just confirm that if I got a 48Pro2 I wouldn't need to buy any extra converters to work with, for example a X28C256 TSOP? There are various Xicor chips that may potentially be worked with.

Thanks for your help, I'm new to the Dataman range.

Hello stumd,

Thank you for contacting Dataman. The Dataman-48Pro2 does indeed support the Xicor X28C256 device in the TSOP32 package but does require a package adaptor:

Manufacturer: Xicor
Type: X28C256 [TSOP32]
8-bit bytes: 8000h (32,768 Bytes)
Organization: 8000hx8 bit
Algorithm: EEPROM I
Implemented in SW ver.: 2.97 or earlier
Modified in SW ver.: not modified
Package Info: TSOP(32), 8x14mm

Dataman-48Pro2 with adapter/module: DIL40/TSOP40 ZIF-CS 12.4mm

The 48Pro2 programmer has a 48way ZIF socket which will accept all devices in DIL package up to 48pins. Other package types will require adaptor sockets of which we have an extensive range.

The Windows control software for the 48Pro2 programmer can be downloaded from our website and will run unrestricted in demo mode which will allow you to get a feel for the interface and the features: http://www.dataman.com/downloads/dl/fil ... ftware.zip

If you can contact us with your details using [email protected] we will provide our formal quotation for this solution.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best regards,
