Hi:

I have a dataman programmer and recently got a socket to read some Texas MSP430F5324 (QFN package), I have some devices with the jtag fuse blown (according to my programmer).
So I've read some information, and apparetnly there is a way to restore fuse trough BSL connection, can someone help me to know, if this can be done whit my dataman, and what optiones should I select?

Best regards...

Hello Richard333,

Thank you for posting in our users forum.

As far as we know from the datasheet for this device the JTAG fuse is OTP or (One Time Programmable) and cannot be reset once blown.

Thank you Neil:

I read some part on the datasheet where says that device has 2 kind of fuses physical fuse, and virtual fuse (called also soft fuse), according to some blogs, that virtual fuse we can restore by using BSL interface I just don't know how and if my dataman programmer would be able to perform...

Hello Richard333,

You are correct in that the JTAG fuse can be erased in BSL mode.

Unfortunately BSL mode is not supported by the Dataman programmers, the implementation is pretty complicated (we expect 40+ man-hours of work) and given that this is the first such request for BSL mode support, we simply cannot justify the necessary time and resources on the implimentation. Thank you for understanding.

If you have any further questions, please conatct me.

Best regards,
