NXP P89V51RD2 & Philips P89C51RD2BN 12clk_(6clk) issue

Postby keesiong » 12 Jan 2015 06:11

Hi, i'm trying to read the NXP P89V51RD2 Flash micrcontroller using 48ProC2 but got a "reading device error".

Then for Philips P89C51RD2BN, it was successfully read the contents but i had to choose P89C51RD+ instead.
For another version of this Philips chip, with same part number but with additional marking "12clk_(6clk)" could not be read. It has an additional program 6-clk/12-clk configuration bit.

Can you advise us on how to get the 2 devices (NXP P89V51RD2 & Philips P89C51RD2BN 12clk_(6clk)) to be read successfully using the 48ProC2?

Thanks,
KS

Hello keesiong,

The P89V51RD2, P89C51RD2 and P89C51RD+ are different chips with different programming algorithms. Our implementation for each of these devices in our software is OK and has been checked.

Based on the limited information I would suggest that this device seems to be locked. Please try working with a new device without protection enabled.

This would suggest that this device is actually a P89C51RD+. Are you able to provide more information?
