Insertion and Not Responsive Errors

Postby bpatterson461 » 16 May 2023 18:05

We just received our programmer and were trying a test read when we experienced a couple of issues right out of the gate. We used a SanDisk SDINBDG4-32G for our test chip. We first read it on two (2) other programmers that we have. Then inserted the chip into the DIL48/BGA153-1.01 ZIF programming adapter. We selected the chip and when we read it we received our 1st error which was an insertion error, showing multiple.

So we decided to disable the insertion error and then it continued but then had the not responsive error (error_rsp_cmd1). So we then ran a self-test with and without the pod and it checked out okay.

We tried one other adapter with a couple of other TSOP chips we had and we had the same insertion error. Not as many pins but an insertion error. So we're looking for the more knowledgeable for any suggestions on what to try next. And we also updated to the latest version with the same results. I don't think reading a chip should be that difficult so it has to be something simple that we're missing.

Thanks in advance

Bruce,

Can you recreate the situation you describe and then run the self test again. You can then generate an info-rich problem report showing all actions with the device using the (Help > Create problem report) feature of the Pg4uw software. Please email the resulting ZIP file from your desktop to [email protected] for analysis.

Best regards,
