can you remove the battery

Hi there.
My Dataman S3 battery is dead.
can i remove the battery and use it using the original charger/psu.

sorry if this has been asked before.
i did a quick search but could only find posts on replacing batteries not removing.

Hello zarniwooop,

If you must remove the S3 nicad pack, then the best option is to connect a DC bench supply directly into the battery connector. Set the bench supply to 9V and the S3 should power up allowing you to load a HELP ROM and use it.
