Hi,
i'm new in burning devices.
I would like to copy the Data from old 29F040 devices to new ones. I have a S4 connectet with my Computer.
I read the manual but i don't really understand how to read the Data from this Device (bigger then the ram of s4) and store it on my computer.
I downloaded the 8bit flash library but i didn't installed it yet.
I would be happy about some informations.

Hello greycat,

If you select a device bigger than the S4 physical size (128Kbyte or 512kByte) then use the following for the LOAD, COMP, BURN, TEST.

Example:
>LOAD 27C080
00000-7FFFF#00000

Here you have the START - END # DESTINATION addresses. The DEST address may be edited with the up and down arrow keys on the S4 to divide the PROM into blocks which will fit into the S4 User RAM and can then be handled and uploaded to the PC separately and later recombined.

Please reference page 10 & 11 of the S4 user manual.
