Dataman 48 driver information

Any chance that information on driving the Dataman 48 can be made available?

We would like connect our Dataman to a Linux system- and to do some additional automation.

I guess that a lot of the chip burning algorithms have been written under licence and can't be released, but actually driving the Dataman 48 it self could be released, ie what data is sent down the parallel port to do what...
Thanks.

Here, here. I am currently using VMWare on linux for the sole purpose of driving the Programmer and would like to remove it from my machine.

So please pass any information this way as well.

Thanks

Brian

P.S. If any info comes up it would make sense to start a project on say, SourceForge, for the community.

I too would like to see scripting support for the Data48. I have owned my unit for apprx 6 years and have been very happy with the device. However I am considering upgrading/mod to the low voltage support but I am not sure I can justify this with the availabillity of computer serial port flash programs and programmers coming availlable all over the net.

Me also.

I'm having problems with XP & my D48. The laptop only runs XP for MPLAB (soon to change) and the Dataman. I think Advantech, who make it, may support a Linux port.

Hi there,

You require the Windows XP upgrade board for your Dataman 48, this will improve the performance of the programmer and make it Windows XP compatable. Please contact us direct for more information.

Best regards,

Neil
