how to clone IC NAND ?

Postby gabak » 18 Jun 2017 01:36

I have a bluray player that works great no problem
I took the chip and read it and now I wrote it in a brand new chip and when I put it back in the bad BR player It wont work.
I was reading that I have to do a hard copy or CLONE it, how do I do that with dataman 48pro2?

Hello gabak,

Thank you for positing on the Dataman users forum.

Working with NAND FLASH devices is in general, non-trivial and requires a deeper understanding of the underlying technology. Copying a NAND FLASH device with unknown content and invalid block management scheme is not considered a good idea. Any invalid blocks present on the device being copied will be included in the data copied from it and will therefore be programmed into the new device.

Please reference the application note on our website here, specifically the FAQ sction on page 37, point 6. "I want to make exact copy of the chip with unknown content. What settings should I use?"

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best regards,
