Ihave problem with this chip, tried amd and freescale chips new and removed from working device
both fails to read
AMD fails to read ID and fails to erase with overcurrent error, and fails blank check
Freescale fails to read ID. passes erase without error, but fails on blank check

Adapter is fine ( i can read 40 pin 29f040)

It sounds as though your devices are faulty or damaged in some way. The overcurrent error would indicate internal damage to the device has occurred. This is most likely unrecoverable.

Please obtain a known good device and try reading and programming that.
