Eprom and eeprom library?

My S4 is now working 'hunky dory' but as I work with a mixture of eproms and eeproms do you have to keep swapping the libaries or can they be 'merged' on to one prom?

Cheers Dave

Hello Dave,

Here is the link to library v2.93 you mention.

Library 2.93 is the last 8bit EPROM/EEPROM/NVRAM & FLASH library that we released before splitting these up into separate libraries. You will find some devices have been added to the support after this library version so you may need to load one of the newer libraries in order to enjoy that support.

Best regards,

Hi Neil, Thanks for that but at the moment I am only doing 27C512 and 28C64's so the 2.93 should be fine.

Cheers Dave

This thread is 9 years old (!) so I'm coming to it a bit late, but are older libraries still available ?
The link is dead but the pre-split library 2.93 sounds like a convenience, even if it doesn't support some later devices.

I suspect that many people using an S4 rather than a more modern programmer are doing that because it's very useful as a repair and maintenance tool, in environments where 1Mbit and smaller devices are still often encountered.

I bought it because I wanted to program a 64kbit device and my Stag PP39 chose that moment to start trippng RCBOs (a victim of the dreaded Rifa Y-rated capacitors, I suspect .. smoke is imminent). The S4 is a long-admired replacement.

I'm no stranger to ancient test equipment - I passed on my Data I/O System 17 several years ago and the recipient still uses it :).

Can anyone help me get a copy of the 2.93 8bit EPROM/EEPROM/NVRAM & FLASH library as the link above does not work any more? I know that i can use the later individual libraries but i often thransfer data between EPROMS, EEPROMS and Flash chips and this library makes the whole process much simpler. The latest version I have is 2.45
Thank you,
Martin.

Thank you Neil.
I can confirm this is the best version to use for general purpose use on the S4 but you may need to use V3.00 for later EPROMs.
