Dataman 48lv upgrade

Postby Lord_kerrigan » 01 Feb 2018 07:05

Hi.
I have a dataman 48lv
I picked up lately to encode eeprom.
But to my surprise I no longer have a parallel port on my computer.

I've read on your forum that it's parading the material in 48uxp
How is it going ?
At what price ?

Hello Lord_kerrigan,

Thank you for posting in our user forum.

The Dataman-48LV/XP/UXP all use the parallel port in a slightly non-standard way and as a result they only work correctly when connected to a parallel port which is built into the motherboard of the PC or laptop. We have tested many other solutions like usb-to-parallel, PCMCIA-to-parallel, PCI parallel port card etc. all without success.

You will either need to find an older PC with a built in parallel port on the motherboard or you can upgrade your programmer to the 48UXP model which will give you USB connection capabilities.

You can view the UXP upgrade kit on our website here: https://www.dataman.com/uxp-upgrade-for-dataman-48lv-48xp.html which will give you access to the latest device support and will allow you to run the programmer under Windows 7, 8 and 10.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best regards,

Neil Parker
