Hello Ian,

The S4 does indeed support the PIC18F2550. You need the S4 library (S4 PIC (18) lib. V3.05) which is available on our website here.

The correct module to use is the PIC16 module and the 40pin ZIF socket. This information can be found on our website here.

Hope this helps.

Hi Neil,

Thanks for the quick reply.

Am very pleased that a 10 -12 year old device can still program a newer PIC

Are there any online videos showing basic operation of the S4 ?

Best regards

Ian

Hello Ian,

There are not any online videos of our products at present but this is something that we may consider. In the mean time if you can let me know which tasks you wish to complete on the S4, I will provide a step by step guide for you.

We do already have several application notes for the S4 which guide the user through some common tasks with the programmer, they can be found on our website here.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Regards,
