Dallas DS1220 BURN hangs

Hello, great to see an active forum for such an old device! Lets test if it can help :-)
I have a problem burning a Dallas DS1220 using the newest "Flash v1.14" 8_bit_flash_eeprom_nvram_library.

Steps to reproduce:
- Empty ZIF-socket (yes, it even fails without a chip!)
- Select "Dallas DS1220 (Alg 57, Ref 0700)"
- Press BURN + ENTER

The S4 now hangs at "Address 100XX".
All Datalines cycles at ~30 kHz, /WE pin is constant high.
All other Dallas devices seem to burn okay - Even without a chip inserted - The compare than fails, no wonder.

There are 5 other DIP24 SRAMs in that library that seem to use the same pinout - I have the same error on them (with and without the chip inserted).

Kind regards
Stefan

Hello Stefan,

Thank you for posting on our forum. Unfortunately the S4 is no longer a current product and as such there is no active development going on. Any device support on the S4 is going to remain as it currently is.

You may wish to consider the Dataman-40Pro which supports the Dallas DS1220 and similar devices. If you were interested then we could offer a discount off this programmer for the trade-in of your S4 programmer. Please contact [email protected] for further details.

If you have any questions, please contact me.

Best regards,
