trying to access a intel ab28f200-b is there an ISP option??

Postby tomanycars » 30 Jun 2021 09:39

Hi

I have a ab28f200-b flash that i need to access for a job , is there an option for ISP , or a dip breaking out option for ZIF connection. unfortunately i am unable to remove it from the target from the host board as it'll destroy the board is this this the only option?

thanks

Adam

Hello Adam,

The Intel AB28F200 is a parallel FLASH memory so cannot be programming using ISP which is serial based. In order to read or write this device it must be removed from the PCB (cleaned of solder/flex residue) and placed directly into the adaptor socket connected to the programmers ZIF.

Extending the signals from the programmers ZIF is not recommended or supported by Dataman, it will almost certainly give disappointing results.

Best regards,

hi Neil

I appreciate the swift reply. I was hopping it wasn't the case , I'll have to check my other options i have available for this particular job.
