Programming tripple supply EPROMS - TMS2716

Postby 8-bit-z80micro » 29 Nov 2021 23:05

There was mention some time ago of a module-2708 to program tripple supply devices 2708 and TMS2716 but I can not find any compatability information on it. The only mention says to check that it is compatible with your programmer.

I presume that there are 3 aspects to this:
1) generation of tripple supply voltages +5, +12, and -5v for Read operations
2) ability to correctly direct A0-A10, Vcc, Vbb, Vpp and CS- vs 26V pulse genration.
3) support for the old TI algorithms for 2708 and newer tms2716.

Please advise.

If need be I am quite happy to create an adapter board with Zif and inverting voltage generators.

I see that the S3 has a -8v rail for RS232, can I hijack this to feed a 79L05 to generate the -5v Vbb?
Does the S3 have separate +12v available or only as a Vpp setting, which would need to be set in the range +25v to +28v.

Thanks

Peter

Hello Peter,

We are not able to release the schematics for the Dataman S3 programmer.

The Dataman S3 is over 30 years old now and the only information that we have on the programmer can be found on our website here: https://www.dataman.com/dataman-s3-resources

Best regards,
