I have a DATAMAN-40PRO.

I Would like to copy code from an existing device, save that code in computer memory or in the DATAMAN-40PRO buffer, and then write that same code to a fresh device of exactly the same type.

Is there a step-by-step guide available to get started with for the above copy-save-write operations ?

Am reluctant to go for trial and error in case I destroy/overwrite original device.

Hello seandeg,

There is a basic guide on our website here which covers copying a master device and programming the data onto a new blank device.

Depending on the type of device, you may have to omit the "Select EPROM/Flash by ID" part and select the device manually from the "Select" menu. But it really is quite straight forward.

It is worth running a blank check on the new device just to confirm that it is blank before you attempt to program the data onto it.
