Hello,
Are you asking where the chip must be placed in the ZIF socket, or something else? Please specify exactly what you need.
Best regards,

Hello,
All chips in DIP/DIL package must be placed at the bottom of the ZIF socket with the pin 1 notch pointing up, away from you.

Thank for the info.
I tried as suggested at the bottom of the ZIF socket but error "No ACK from ROM" and I have selected the proper EEPROM.

Hello,
If you are programming the 24C04 device then you must be using the "S4 Serial lib. V3.21" which requires the S4 Serial Module. We no longer have the Serial module available to purchase but the pinout details can be found on our website here: https://www.dataman.com/dataman-s4-serial-adapter allowing you to create your own programming socket.
Hope this helps.
