Hello , i am in a situation that i purchased a used programmer , Advantech laptool 48. The problem was that it only had parallelport and no USB . so i got my self a laptop with windows XP sp3 32bit , and purchased a 1-1 kabel for it. my problem is that when i install the software , the software tels me that i need a hw upgrade , and it will not work. , is there an solution to get it to work, with an older software version ?

Below are the Dataman-48 upgrade paths showing which versions of the programmers can be upgraded to the latest UXP version and also how to identify the different versions.

A. D-48 ( Firmware Version 1.9 ) *(1) cannot be upgraded to D-48UXP.
B. D-48/LV ( Firmware Version 2.0 and Above ) *(2) can be upgraded to D-48UXP, please order the UXP Upgrade Kit.
C. D-48XP can be upgraded to D-48UXP, please order the UXP Upgrade Kit.

*1: No support for 3.3V device, upper PCB version is A3.0 or earlier
*2: Support for 3.3V device, upper PCB version is B1.0

If your upper PCB version is showing B1.0 then you must have the Dataman-48LV hardware. In which case, the latest software that will work with this programmer model is v4.67 available here: https://www.dataman.com/mwdownloads/dow ... nk/id/175/ and compatible with Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000 only.
