Hello,
I have a Dataman 48 and I'm trying to read/program an ATMEL AT27C512R eprom...it says it's a supported device in the list, but it won't connect to it...it keeps saying incompatible chip due to number of pins. It's expecting to see a 28-pin device, but I have a 32-pin PLCC package. I'm using the PLCC to DIP adapter, but it wont work...please advise.
Thank you.
Brian

Hello brianj,
It sounds as though you have the wrong adaptor socket.
Devices under 1Mbit require a PLCC32 to DIL28 adaptor. Devices 1Mbit or larger require a PLCC32 to DIL32 adaptor.
Please make sure that you have the DIL28/PLCC32 ZIF EPROM or equivalent adaptor.
