Anyone else have trouble with these chips (Atmel 49F002A)? These are replacements for the obsoleted 49F002. I've had about a 40% failure rate of the new "A" chips, in all of my programmers (S4 and ChipBurner). Atmel tells me the algorithm is the same and to use the 49F002 device on the programmer, and if it doesn't work it is a programmer problem.
Did I just get a bad batch of chips? or is there really something wrong with my programmers?

Re: Atmel 49F002A
Hi
I do have AT49F002. I think that AT49F002A uses a smaller die. They always claim 100% compatibility but the reality is different. We need to add an algorithm for A marked devices.
If you could spare 2 devices it would greatly speed up the process of modifying the algorithm.
Let me know.
