Which Dataman programmer model do you have?
In general these programmers perform a device insertion test (wrong or backward position) and a contact check (poor contact pin-to-socket) before they program each device. These capabilities supported by overcurrent protection and a signature-byte (Device ID) check help prevent chip damage due to operator error.
